How it began
On 21 November 1998 Mykhailo Brovko and his sons Mykhailo and Volodymyr assembled their first stainless steel towel rail by hand. They started with about $1,500 and fifty towel rails a month — and named the brand Mario, the Italian form of the name Mykhailo.

01
1998 · The first towel rail in a garage
Mykhailo Brovko and his sons build the first stainless steel towel rail by hand — around 50 items a month.

2000–2005 · Building the production
A rented workshop, the first employees, argon welding and grinding, the first ladder models. In 2002 — a 200 m² workshop with 12 people; around 2005 — the move to Lityn and our own 2,000 m².

2008–2014 · Europe, electric models, accessories
2008 — entering European markets. 2011 — electric models with a dry heating element. 2014 — the accessories line. Scandinavia chose water models, Italy, Spain and Iceland — electric ones.

2015 · A conveyor and 10,000 m²
A new production workshop and flow-line manufacturing. Total premises of about 10,000 m² and a training centre for staff.

2020 · Loss, pandemic, the UK
Co-founder Mykhailo Brovko passed away, and his brother Volodymyr took over the company. Despite the lockdown, demand grew to 6,000 items a month, and the products were certified for the UK market.

2021 · Lean manufacturing
A lean system: the audit found 3–5 extra kilometres of walking per worker a day. Quality control moved from the end of the cycle into the process itself.

2024 · Hygge Family
Together with a British partner, a separate workshop opens for carbon steel towel rails under the Hygge Family brand.

Technology and quality
We use only European stainless steel from Outokumpu in Finland and Acerinox in Spain. TIG, laser and resistance welding, a pressure test for every water towel rail and a 1500 V test for every electric one — quality control is built into every step.
